China Supplier Verification Guide
Use this workflow to move from first lookup to a documented proceed, hold, or escalate decision using official registration data and public risk signals.
Step 1 β Start with the strongest identifier
Enter the Chinese legal name, English name, or USCC in the Checker Tool. If you have the USCC, use it first because it is usually the most reliable identifier for exact company matching.
- Use the 18-digit USCC whenever possible. It is usually the fastest way to confirm the exact company.
- If you do not have the USCC, use the Chinese legal name before relying on the English name.
- If no result appears, try official name variants, the legal representative name, or brand-related keywords.
Step 2 β Confirm you picked the right legal entity
Do not judge risk until you are sure the result matches the company in your documents. Check:
- Whether the legal name in ChinVerify matches the company named in your quote, contract, invoice, or bank details.
- Whether the USCC is consistent across your documents and the registry result.
- Whether the region and registration authority make sense for the supplier you think you are reviewing.
Step 3 β Review the company profile and risk signals
Click 'Assess' to review the registration record, company profile, and risk modules. Coverage expands by plan level. You can refer to our Example Report.
- Review the core profile first: legal representative, registered capital, location, industry, and business scope.
- Then review the warning areas: abnormal operations, dishonesty records, judicial cases, and related public risk signals.
- If your plan allows it, use customs credit, shareholder data, related ownership review, and official change records to deepen the assessment.
Step 4 β Save findings for team review
Turn the company check into reusable evidence for procurement, finance, compliance, or legal review:
- Favorite important suppliers if you may need to revisit them later. Regular history clears after 30 days.
- Share the profile URL when different teams need to review the same company.
- Export a PDF report when you need an approval trail, audit support, or internal documentation.
Step 5 β Complete a final cross-check before you commit
Before payment, contract signature, or onboarding approval, finish the final verification steps:
- Request the business license and compare it against the ChinVerify result.
- Confirm the USCC and legal representative across all counterpart documents, especially invoices and contracts.
- For higher-value or higher-risk cases, add third-party checks such as factory audits or background investigations.
Choose the next supplier check that fits what you just learned

Practical Tips
- β’Start with the strongest stop signals first: revoked status, court enforcement, and abnormal-operation records.
- β’Treat 'Revoked' and 'Cancelled' as hold signals until you independently clarify the case.
- β’Use business scope to judge whether the company really fits the role it claims to play.
- β’For supplier due diligence, matching the USCC and legal representative should be standard practice.
- β’The Chinese legal name is the authoritative reference. English names are often informal or translated.
